KIDTROPOLIS is the Children’s Ministry of Lake Forest Church-Huntersville and is dedicated to “loving kids as they discover and live out their role in God’s story.”
We strive to create an environment that is a safe and happy place for both you and your child. When children come to Lake Forest Church they are cared for by nurturing, trained leaders and find a connection to God and friends in fun, safe and engaging environments.
It’s important to us that you feel your kiddo is in good hands so that you can participate in worship no distractions and worry-free. Every person who works with children at LFC must first pass a background check and receive proper training.
Plan to arrive 15 minutes before the service starts. We’ll check your child into the appropriate program using our computer kiosks, get to know him or her and introduce you to the leaders they will be staying with during service. Parents and kids receive matching identification tags that allow us to note any allergies or special needs your child may have, page you during the service if needed and to ensure only you can pick up your child after service. It’s a good idea to arrive at least 10 minutes before service starts to make sure we can get you settled in without feeling rushed.
Our First Look classrooms are designed to incite wonder and help our littlest ones embrace a God who is bigger than their imagination. Beginning with toddlers, we provide weekly Bible story presentations that are highly-creative and interactive and at age three, we introduce children to large-group worship.
First Look classrooms are led by loving and consistent leaders who understand how to share the story of God through age-appropriate lessons and activities. By the time your child is five, we want them to know that God made them, God loves them, and Jesus wants to be their friend forever.
Here is when we provoke discovery in the heart of a child. LFC’s uses the 252 Curriculum, which is designed to shape identity through planting these three truths in the heart of every elementary-aged child: I need to make the wise choice, I can trust God no matter what, and I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
252 Basics is organized around key Bible stories that help kids discover Jesus and reflect Him to the world around them. Every month presents a new Biblical virtue (Life App) that comes with resources parents can use at home during the week.
In Club 54, 4th & 5th graders are provided a safe environment where they can begin taking ownership in their faith with God. Club 54 kids learn about God through large group and small group activities on Sunday morning, and through opportunities beyond Sunday to build relationships, have fun, grow deeper in faith, and serve the community.
Every child is known and loved and will know the importance of her/his life in God’s story.
