Jesus gives us the power and command to “go” make disciples and care for those in need. Therefore, Lake Forest Church joins the Missio Dei (mission of God) by engaging in the lives of vulnerable people; the homeless and home-bound, orphans and widows and the unreached and overlooked. Our goal is to share God’s love with our actions and words.
At Lake Forest Church there are several opportunities to serve locally with our partner ministries, participate on short-term, cross-cultural mission trips as well as send others on trips with your prayers and financial support. Whether you hug a street child, volunteer in a local partner ministry, serve alongside a pastor in another country or form a long-term relationship with a local family who is economically or culturally different, you are becoming the hands and feet of Jesus.
Men's Honduras TripThe Caterpillar Christmas Toy Store is growing, and we need your support now more than ever. We need volunteers to help, donations to fund, and prayers to guide our efforts. Let’s work together to make this the most magical holiday yet!

Inspired by the Gospel message of hospitality, Room in the Inn offers a warm bed, a nourishing meal, and a safe place to sleep for our homeless neighbors. This ministry, rooted in the collaborative effort of local churches, provides shelter, food, and friendship to those in need. Join us in providing a night of safety and rest, in the lives of vulnerable men, women, and children as we open our doors for Room in the Inn.
As a Room in the Inn volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in providing comfort and support to our un-housed neighbors. Your responsibilities may include transportation, preparing and serving meals, assisting with set-up and clean-up, offering companionship, and providing a listening ear. You’ll work alongside dedicated volunteers and staff to create a welcoming and safe environment at Lake Forest Church Huntersville. By serving with us, you have the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness, fostering hope and compassion within our community.
God is on a mission to rescue one more person from loneliness, hopelessness, and spiritual emptiness. We GET TO join him on this Missio Dei every day where we work, play, and live and sometimes we get to do so around the world across seas and languages and cultures.
We go on Short Term Mission Trips to make a difference and join God’s Mission. But even more, we go on Short Term Mission Trips to jumpstart and supercharge our ability to recognize and live out this Missio Dei every day in our own culture, church, and family. Outside our daily routines and our comfort zones, we get a better view of who God is and what God is doing through his church around the world. These inspire us to re-imagine our role in God’s story of redemption, because the spiritual immersion inspires us to become more of who God called us to be.
